Building Technology - History, Theory and Design
By means of a series of lectures, seminars and exercises, the modules on Building Technology and History, Theory and Design (GTG) serve to develop students’ practical and theoretical knowledge, which in turn reinforces and enriches their work in the design studios. Content from associated courses is correlated within each individual module so as to foster interdisciplinary thought. Furthermore, the continuous involvement of lecturers in the design projects allows for the integration of knowledge acquired throughout the entire study programme.

The first four semesters are characterised by clearly structured, focused development.
During the fifth and sixth semesters, however, the spectrum of courses available to students is broadened by the addition of electives. This allows students to deepen their knowledge in an individualised manner. Prerequisite courses must be completed within the first two years of the Bachelor’s degree programme if the student is not able to submit proof of possessing equivalent, prior knowledge. CAD and building construction are offered within the scope of this coursework.
