The experience-oriented nature of the Bachelor’s degree programme prepares students to take up employment in architecture firms, real estate management and within the building industry. The practice of architecture requires solid expertise and a clear approach with regard to materials and construction, uses and repercussions, management and economics, sustainability and acceptance. Within the course of their studies, students attend both general science and subject-specific classes, acquire social and intercultural skills and learn how to work within an interdisciplinary team.
A key facet of architecture is the architectural design, which is at the same time the most complex challenge. Design has proven to be a progressive process that may be implemented to deal with complex tasks. It is therefore an important component of the study programme.
The study programme is supplemented by modules that reinforce methodical and theoretical principles; they also serve to improve technical knowledge in a focused and purposeful way. The acquisition of practical experience plays an important role in the professional experience module.
Upon successful completion of the programme, the University of Liechtenstein will award the academic degree
Bachelor of Science in Architecture ( BSc Arch ) .
Degree recipients are eligible for admission to Master’s degree programmes. The Bachelor’s degree does not qualify individuals however to practice the profession of “architect” or use the professional title that goes therewith.
