Prerequisites
University entrance certificate, professional baccalaureate
or other equivalent, international degree/diploma that entitles its recipient to study architecture on the university level is a prerequisite for this programme. Applicants possessing federal professional baccalaureates may be admitted to the Bachelor’s degree programme upon successfully passing the “Passerellenprüfung”, a supplementary examination given by the Swiss Matriculation Committee. Prior work experience
One of the admission requirements for the Bachelor’s degree programme at the University of Liechtenstein is the ability to prove 100 hours of prior work experience. Those who possess a university entrance certificate but do not have a technical training background are required to prove this prior work experience preferably in the form of an internship within the building sector or other construction-related industry. Training received within the context of a structural engineering position or at a structural engineering school is recognised as prior work experience by the University of Liechtenstein.

The visite of the construction workshop is obligatory for all accepted students. This 4 day lasting workshop is organized by the Institute of Architecture and Planning of the University of Liechtenstein and will be held in the introduction week befor the lecture start.

Language skills
English language certificate: Cambridge First Certificate, TOEFL with a minimum score of 82 points or TOEIC with a minimum score of 750 points on the listening and reading test and a score of at least 300 points on the speaking and writing test. The certificate must be submitted by the end of the 4th semester.

Verification of German language skills
before beginning their studies, applicants with non-germanophone higher education entrance qualifications are required to demonstrate their knowledge of the German language by providing an attestation (DaF test / Goethe Institute, level C1).

Letter of motivation
A letter detailing the applicant’s personal motivations should accompany the application documents. It must be no longer than one page (A4) and should explain:
> the applicant’s general reasons for wanting to study;
> why he or she has selected this particular programme;
> and lastly, why he or she is applying to the University of Liechtenstein.
The Academic Director or a substitute representative may also carry out a personal interview with the applicant regarding his or her motives for studying.

Portfolio

An integral part of a candidate’s application is his or her portfolio. The portfolio allows the applicant to exhibit a portion of the work he or she has already executed in design classes and during his or her professional experience. The portfolio may be no more than 10 pages long and the sheets must be either A4 or A3 format. No original works should be included in the portfolio, rather only colour copies.

Lateral entrant

In order to complete the Bachelor’s degree programme at the University of Liechtenstein, at least 60 ECTS credits of coursework, including the Bachelor’s thesis, must be completed there.

Application deadline
Registration to apply for admission is an ongoing process. The deadline falls on July 15th (EU/EEA and Swiss citizens) and May 31st (third countries) of each year (applications must be postmarked by this date!).
Please note: a guaranteed place at the university is only possible once the University of Liechtenstein has received proof of the applicant’s higher education entrance qualifications.
