Fact sheet
The fact sheet provides an overview of the most important information about the Bachelor´s degree programme in Architecture.

Academic degree Bachelor of Science in Architecture (BSc Arch)

Degree recipients are eligible for admission to Master’s degree programmes. They are qualified to take up employment in architecture firms, real estate management, the construction industry, project development as well as within other realms of the building industry. The Bachelor’s degree does not qualify individuals to practice the profession of “architect” or use the professional title that goes therewith.

Admission requirements As a prerequisite, applicants must provide proof that they fulfil the entrance qualification requirements for university study:

> General higher education entrance qualification  (university entrance certificate)
> Subject-specific higher education entrance qualification
> Professional baccalaureate

Applicants with professional baccalaureates originating from Liechtenstein or Austria may be admitted directly to the university.

Applicants with federal professional baccalaureates may obtain the Liechtenstein professional baccalaureate at BMS Liechtenstein, a vocational training school (admission to the 3rd semester of the professional baccalaureate programme). Alternatively, candidates may choose to sit the “Passerellenprüfung”, a supplementary examination given by the Swiss Matriculation Committee.

Prior work experience
One of the admission requirements for the Bachelor’s degree programme at the University of Liechtenstein is the ability to prove 100 hours of prior work experience. Those who possess a university entrance certificate but do not have a technical training background are required to prove this prior work experience preferably in the form of an internship within the building sector or other construction-related industry. Training received within the context of a structural engineering position or at a structural engineering school is recognised as prior work experience by the University of Liechtenstein.

The visite of the construction workshop is obligatory for all accepted students. This 4 day lasting workshop is organized by the Institute of Architecture and Planning of the University of Liechtenstein and will be held in the introduction week befor the lecture start.
Language skills
English language certificate: Cambridge First Certificate, TOEFL with a minimum score of 82 points or TOEIC with a minimum score of 750 points on the listening and reading test and a score of at least 300 points on the speaking and writing test). The certificate must be submitted by the end of the 4th semester.

Verification of German language skills: before beginning their studies, applicants with non-germanophone higher education entrance qualifications are required to demonstrate their knowledge of the German language by providing an attestation (DaF test / Goethe Institute, level C1).
Application and admission procedure The application must be submitted on time by means of the application form and all required documents.

The Institute of Architecture and Planning accepts applications submitted after these deadlines if there are open slots available.
Tuition fees CHF 750.- per semester

A spot at the university is guaranteed once the tuition fees for the first semester have been paid.

Learning materials and excursions are not included in the cost of tuition.

Study and career Study and work are compatible. The study period will be extended.
