Research Profile and Mission Statement
To acquire knowledge through research and participation in discourse within the relevant scientific communities is a key factor shaping the international reputation of the University of Liechtenstein. Research is consequently a crucial element contributing to the core image as well as an indispensable prerequisite for research-based teaching.

Striving for internationally recognised research accomplishments, of particular importance to the University of Liechtenstein, requires well-developed research in these units.

Research Profile
In line with its official mission, the University of Liechtenstein conducts application-oriented research in four selected reaserach areas. Primary responsibility for research lies with the institutes and associated institutes. The graduate school offers its students research based degree programmes (MSc, PhD) in the fields of business economics and  architecture and planning.

Research Mission Statement
The University of Liechtenstein defines research and development (R&D) as all systematic and creative activities serving to broaden the range of knowledge as it pertains to humanity, culture and society, with the goal of employing new application potential.

Research is conducted within designated focus areas with a high degree of relevance for Liechtenstein and the region.

The newly acquired knowledge is transferred for the benefit of business and societal development.

The high quality of research work is recognised internationally by professional circles cooperating with researchers at the University of Liechtenstein. To promote quality, a research-friendly framework has been created, actively challenging the researchers and their teams operating within the framework of applied “research governance”.
