International Entrepreneurship
International Entrepreneurship is the combination of innovative, proactive and risk-seeking behaviour that crosses national borders and is intended to create value in organizations. Increased pressure on the home market coming from international competitors is moving more and more companies to seek opportunities in international markets. Therefore the Master of Science (MSc) in Entrepreneurship offers several possibilities to learn and deal with International Entrepreneurship.

Educational Journeys

In the Master’s degree programme in Entrepreneurship students can participate in two educational journeys. The study trip on the topic of “Discover New Markets” is conducted in current or future growth markets, for instance in China or Latin America. Students thus get a practical impression of internationalisation in new, upcoming markets. Visits are made to international start-ups and multinational companies from Europe that are active in the corresponding growth markets as well as to companies from the respective markets. Lectures at local universities provide the students with academic content. The partner universities in China are the renowned Tongji University and the respected Fudan University. In Latin America a cooperation with the university Tecnológico de Monterrey is being fostered. The Tecnológico de Monterrey is among the top 10 international business schools in the ranking by the Wall Street Journal and is considered the best university in Latin America. By combining lectures at universities with conversations with entrepreneurs, students receive insight into the most important determinants of entrepreneurial actions in globalised markets. This includes, for example, explanations on the country-specific business customs and practices, negotiating practices, intercultural peculiarities, market entry strategies and the outsourcing of individual units of the value chain.

In addition to study trips on internationalisation, educational journeys are also organised around other topics.
