Stefan is Assistant Professor at the Martin Hilti Chair of BPM. Before joining the group he worked as a researcher at the European Research Center for Information Systems (ERCIS) at the University of Muenster and as a Research Assistant at the BPM Group at Queensland University of Technology (QUT). Moreover, Stefan has conducted various BPM consultancy projects for internationally recognized companies. Stefan holds a doctorate (Dr. rer. pol) from the University of Muenster, Germany. He participated in the doctoral consortium at the 2007 International Conference on Information Systems (ICIS). Since 2007 he is an Associated Researcher to the BPM Group at Queensland University of Technology (QUT) and to the ARC funded Center of Excellence for Creative Industries and Innovation (CCI). His main research interests include innovative and creative business processes. Stefan has a research background in qualitative methods and the grounded theory method in particular.
