Liechtenstein on the architectural world stage
Last Friday saw the opening of the exhibition ‘Once upon a time in Liechtenstein’ at the Architecture Biennale in Venice. This had been planned by the University of Liechtenstein, and was accompanied by a symposium involving international architects. The exhibition continues at the Palazzo Trevisan degli Ulivi in Venice until 26 October 2014, and will be shown at the Liechtenstein Museum of the Fine arts from 6 November.

Architecture lecturer wins prestigious Tyrol commission
A native of the Vorarlberg region of Austria, the architect Erich Strolz has just won the competition for the ‘Haus der Musik’ [‘House of Music’] project in Innsbruck. Approval of parliament ensures Liechtenstein’s participation in Erasmus+
As a result of the vote of the Landtag [the Liechtenstein parliament] on Wednesday, 1 October 2014, no further obstacles remain to Liechtenstein’s taking part in the European educational programme Erasmus+. In spite of an increase in the anticipated costs resulting from the rise in Liechtenstein’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP), 20 out of the 25 members of parliament gave their approval to the necessary funding. more...

European Prize for Urban Public Space

The results of the 8th award of the European Prize for Urban Public Space have been made public on 25 April. The Prize’s international jury, consisting of representatives from the six institutions that participate with the CCCB in organising the Prize, has decided on 25 finalists. Aga Khan Award nomination for Bernardo Bader
The Aga Khan Award for Architecture, endowed with 1 million dollars in prize money, is presented every three years to projects which set new standards in architecture, planning practices, monument preservation and landscape architecture. Deutsches Aktieninstitut awards university prize to a professor at the University of Liechtenstein
