Aga Khan Award nomination for Bernardo Bader
The Aga Khan Award for Architecture, endowed with 1 million dollars in prize money, is presented every three years to projects which set new standards in architecture, planning practices, monument preservation and landscape architecture. For the 2013 cycle, Bernardo Bader’s design for an Islamic cemetery in Vorarlberg is among the 20 nominations.

Deutsches Aktieninstitut awards university prize to a professor at the University of Liechtenstein
As part of a formal evening reception in Frankfurt in April 2013, the university prize awarded by Deutsches Aktieninstitut (German Shares Institute) was presented for the 18th time. The first prize for doctoral theses and habilitations went to Professor Dirk Zetzsche for his habilitation thesis.

The first “Didaktik Intensiv” continuing education programme was concluded in December. Since May, a total of 11 senior lecturers, doctoral students and lecturers have attended four modules on the topics of university teaching, using activating methods, supervising writing processes and assessing performances. Timber-hybrid tower block: would-be architects at the University of Liechtenstein develop innovative concepts
From September 2011, an eight-storey LifeCycle Tower (LCT) will be erected in Dornbirn, Austria. What is special about LCT One? The hybrid tower block consists mostly of wood. The project architect is Hermann Kaufmann; the client is a subsidiary of a Vorarlberg construction company. The flexibility of the LCT system is illustrated in sketches by architecture students at the University of Liechtenstein, supervised by Professor Dietrich Schwarz. They have come up with some highly creative solutions for the living and working spaces of the future.
