Studying in Europe
Prerequisites and participation:
Apply at the
International Office
to secure a study abroad placement from the list of
partner universities
sharing a contract with the University of Liechtenstein. You are eligible if:
you have completed the second semester at the time of application for study abroad
you have not yet participated in an ERASMUS programme.
Dates
The application deadline for a study abroad placement is 1 March for stays in the following winter semester and/or in the following summer semester. Please note that three possible destinations have to be chosen.

Agreement between the department head and the International Office on the nomination of the candidate according to the following criteria:

Grants
As an Erasmus student, you are entitled to an Erasmus mobility grant, available from the
Agency for International Educational Affairs
(AIBA) and requested through the International Office. The
International Office
must receive grant applications by
20 June.
Please note that partner and host universities have their own admission forms, which must also be requested and completed in sufficient time. Application deadlines for host universities vary considerably and must be individually requested.
Extension
Extension of a placement is possible, so long as the allocation of grants has not been exhausted. Applications for extensions must be made
at least one month before the end of the existing placement
to the Agency for International Educational Affairs.
Study contract
Each student selects courses at the partner university and lists them on the Study contract. The program representatives sign off on the selection of subjects. A minimun of 15 ECTS credits per semester
must be obtained
in order to be eligible for the grant, whereas a maximum of 30 ECTS credits per semester
may be earned
. In the case of a course change while abroad, the changes must be newly approved during the semester abroad by the department representatives.
Cancellation
Should the semester abroad be cancelled after June 1 of the respective year, the amount of CHF 200 will be charged for the time and effort. Following reasons will be accepted for the cancellation (confirmation required): serious illness, a case of death in the family, pregnancy. If the semester abroad already has been organised, but the student chooses not to go, the fee of CHF 200.- has to be paid as well.
