Please note that partner and host universities have their own admission forms, which must also be requested and completed in sufficient time. Application deadlines for host universities vary considerably and must be individually requested.

Extension of a placement is possible, so long as the allocation of grants has not been exhausted. Applications for extensions must be made at least one month before the end of the existing placement to the Agency for International Educational Affairs.

A minimun of 15 ECTS credits per semester must be obtained in order to be eligible for the grant, whereas a maximum of 30 ECTS credits per semester may be earned. In the case of a course change while abroad, the changes must be newly approved during the semester abroad by the department representatives.

Following reasons will be accepted for the cancellation (confirmation required): serious illness, a case of death in the family, pregnancy. If the semester abroad already has been organised, but the student chooses not to go, the fee of CHF 200.- has to be paid as well.
