Mobility programmes
Active participation in various international mobility programmes offers students, lecturers and researchers the opportunity to experience the benefits of a stay abroad. The significance and value of mobility and exchange programmes can result only when a financial framework for participation in the stay abroad, acceptance at the partner university, and academic recognition of study and research stays are guaranteed.

The University of Liechtenstein currently participates in the following mobility programmes:
Life Long Learning
Erasmus
Norwegian Financial Mechanism / EEA
European Policy Statement

The ERASMUS program represents the most important strategic means for the University of Liechtenstein to improve its degree of internationalism. A greater degree of internationalism is highly important for the University of Liechtenstein, as a small institution, in order to maintain high standards and ensure that it remains attractive as an educational facility. The expertise gained by various people through project activities, the network of contacts and cooperation, the valuable financial resources and the value of the ERASMUS brand make major contributions to promoting internationalization.

Active involvement in ERASMUS contributes to the aims of increasing the mobility of students to approx. 30%, encouraging each permanent lecturer to take part in an ERASMUS lecturer mobility scheme within a period of 3 years, promoting the development of individual key members of administrative staff by means of placements abroad, allowing students and lecturers with a low degree of mobility to achieve European experience via involvement in an intensive program, allowing the exchange of expertise and improvements in quality via participation in specialized networks, introducing new developments via international curriculum projects and ERASMUS Mundus, and developing and ensuring the correct application of the ECTS/DS systems, which should be implemented in 2008/09 via labeling.

For these purposes, the following ERASMUS activities are priorities for the University of Liechtenstein: development of all mobility measures for students and lecturers; improvements to facilitating conditions; planning of intensive programs; acquisition of the ECTS/DS label; cooperation on networking projects; innovation projects within ERASMUS Mundus and curriculum development.

The activities engaged in the by the University as part of ERASMUS and EPS are presented via the University’s homepage and publications, via information events held for students and staff, and to a broad public via cooperative press activities together with the National Agency.

The Commission for Gender and Diversity is developing, together with the Rectorate, the study administrators and the personnel department, strategies and measures to ensure equal opportunities for men and women in their studies and in terms of employment conditions. The student office, the student representatives, the international office and the study administrators arrange joint activities (e.g. international lunches, cultural rotation events, mentoring...) in order to promote social cohesion between the students.
