Students: EU, EEA, Switzerland
According to the new immigration law which was enacted on January 1, 2009, the main purpose of residence in Liechtenstein must be to study. Students from EU and EEA countries, as well as Switzerland are permitted to work as temporary employees up to 35 % of regular full-time employment. During their semester break (mid-July to the end of September), students may work full-time in Liechtenstein. Completing an internship is allowed, if the curriculum of their respective study program makes it necessary to obtain professional experience. This activity may exceed the 35% restriction.

Students: Non-EU Citizens
International students from non-EU countries are only allowed to work in Liechtenstein and Switzerland if the academic director of their study program confirms in writing that the nature of the work is related to their respective study program.
