The Liechtenstein Funds Forum is a series of lectures, panel discussions and talks specifically designed for the Liechtenstein Fund Center. The series is focusing on recent legal and economic trends, developments and practical issues in the fund industry. Hence, its target audience are management companies, depositaries, asset manager as well as investors but also academia which is also administering the funds forum itself. Topicalities are discussed and presented by experienced experts of the Liechtenstein financial center and other well-known financial services locations.
"Liechtensteinischer Fondstag" (Funds Day)

The Liechtenstein Funds Day is specifically organized to serve the needs of local and European industry by providing a daylong event focused on specific topics in current funds regulation. As a main event of the fund industry in Liechtenstein, the conference offers the possibility for an unofficial exchange between investors, financial services providers, regulators, government and academia.
The conference takes place twice a year. The summer conference will focus on Liechtenstein specific topicalities whereas the fall conference elaborates on specific subjects of collective investment undertakings with an international scope.
The Liechtenstein Funds Day targets academics, regulators, government officers, practitioners, lawyers, consultants, accountants in the financial market industry, financial intermediaries and institutional investors in Europe and the financial centers of Liechtenstein and Switzerland.
“Forum Aktuelle Entwicklungen im Bank- und Finanzmarktrecht” (Forum on RecentDevelopments in Banking andSecurities law)
This series is focusing on international and European as well as Liechtenstein specific developments and topicalities in banking and securities law and their influence on financial intermediaries in the Liechtenstein financial center and beyond. The alternating lectures and panel discussions should intensify interactions on current progresses between academia and practice while addressing all interested parties of the financial center.
Executive Master of Laws (LL.M.) in Banking and Securities Law
In September 2012, the newly crafted Executive Master of Laws (LL.M.) in Banking and Securities Law will begin. Global developments in banking and securities law are increasingly leading to interdisciplinary challenges spurred by increasing European and international regulation. For this reason, the Executive Master of Laws (LL.M.) in Banking and Securities Law offers a special legal qualification, which has been designed to completely and comprehensively meet the needs and requirements of the banking and securities industry.
Educational Objective
As part of the graduate program, legal developments inside and outside the European Economic Area (EEA) will be studied, with special emphasis on Liechtenstein law. In addition to gaining a sound knowledge of European legislative acts and the specific national features of the most important jurisdictions, participants will acquire essential and practice-oriented interdisciplinary skills. As the lectures will be held in English, the program is well-suited to the needs and requirements of global financial markets.On the basis of this specifically designed qualification, participants will be capable of advising financial intermediaries on the legal aspects of wealth and fund management, both locally and globally, or to undertake positions of responsibility in management structures. Furthermore, the skills and methods learnt during the Executive Master of Laws (LL.M.) in Banking and Securities Law will enable participants to keep abreast of any significant legal developments in the financial markets. With regard to the Bologna Declaration of 19 June 1999, the University of Liechtenstein wishes to make an active contribution to international occupational mobility in Europe with the Executive Master of Laws (LL.M.) in Banking and Securities Law.
Target Group
The program is designed for graduates from various disciplines, namely law, business administration, banking, trust administration, insurance, public governance practice and consulting. Applicants should preferably have a law degree and the desire to acquire a comprehensive and practice-oriented qualification in banking and securities law. An applicant with equivalent professional or other relevant experiences may be admitted to the program. Such experience must be demonstrated and verified by the head of the program. Admission will be decided by the head of the program, after perusal of the applications which are submitted in full and on time.
Curriculum
The curriculum is spread over three semesters. The courses requiring attendance are dispersed over the first 2.5 semesters and total 480 hours. For the most part, the third semester is dedicated to writing the master thesis.

Language Proficiency
Lectures as well as examinations in the Executive Master of Laws (LL.M.) in Banking and Securities Law are held in English. With their application, LL.M. candidates need to provide proof of English language proficiency either through an internationally recognized certificate, a personal interview or other professional proof.
