The final presentation to the representatives of the hospital management was the completion of a successful practice project in cooperation with the Liechtenstein National Hospital. During the winter semester, the students of the master´s degree course Business Process Management of the University of Liechtenstein were contributing to quality assurance of the National Hospital of Liechtenstein. They therefore analyzed processes to identify potential risks and on this basis developed checklists for the hospital management.
During a first presentation in December the developed risk management conception was presented to the management. Thereafter, based on various interviews with employees from different areas of the hospital potential risks were subsequently identified and evaluated. The aim thereby was to implement and realize to some extent the risk management conception which was developed earlier. Furthermore initial results for selected processes were realized. The experience gained and lessons learned were documented by the students and now serve a basis for establishing a comprehensive risk management.

On the occasion of the final presentation Karin Zech-Hoop, administrative director of the National Hospital of Liechtenstein, expressed her thanks for the good collaboration. The project results will be discussed it the Hospital Commission.

Practical projects such as this are an integral component of the master program and give students the opportunity to expand their knowledge on specific issues in practice. The project with the Liechtenstein National Hospital is furthermore a good example of how companies in the region work together successfully with the University of Liechtenstein.
