With the aim of offering an exciting education, students in the last academic year were offered a diverse curriculum.

For example, students of the Master’s degree programme in IT and Business Process Management had a rather special start to the winter semester 2011/2012. For the first three days of the semester, the lecture room was exchanged for a scout hut. In an unusual atmosphere, the first year students were able to get to know each other and receive an insight into the basic concepts of business process management. The participants were very enthusiastic about their experiences in the first few days. “It was a great team-building exercise – these three days really brought us together,” said one student.

As part of the Master’s degree programme in IT and Business Process Management, during the winter semester 2011/2012  two practical projects took place in cooperation with Hilti AG and the HPZ curative education centre of the Principality of Liechtenstein. In the projects, groups of around 20 students worked on various problems set by the partner organizations. “The practical projects are a very exciting process, as the students always bring a certain amount of curiosity with them. This fresh perspective provides us with many new insights into our own company,” says Toni Böckle. Another unique cooperation with companies from the region is the Career Program, which is aimed at highly qualified and motivated talent with particular interest in management and information technology. The programme enables students to work in a regional company and, at the same time, study for their Master’s degree in IT and Business Process Management at the University of Liechtenstein.

The BPM Winter School took place for the first time this year. A total of 29 participants from more than five countries and 15 different universities were involved. For the international students, in addition to lectures and a final examination, visits to the companies Swarovski and Hilti AG were also on the programme.
The lectures at the university were also made as diverse as possible. As part of the Information Systems course on the Bachelor’s degree programme in Business Administration, guests from the industry were invited to speak – captivating their audience. Furthermore, the students also had the opportunity to take part in a one-day Avaloq workshop.

This trend of exciting education is to be continued in the coming academic year.
