Professor Martin Wenz takes part in an expert discussion at the Federal Tax Administration in Berne


On 5 May 2011, the Swiss Federal Tax Administration (FTA) organized a hearing for the Strategic Development Process for the year 2025 (STEP2025), in cooperation with the Federal Department of Finance (FDF) in Berne. As a part of this, the strategic report prepared by an internal working group was discussed with a panel of external experts.

On 5 May 2011, the Swiss Federal Tax Administration (FTA) organized a hearing for the Strategic Development Process for the year 2025 (STEP2025), in cooperation with the Federal Department of Finance (FDF) in Berne. As a part of this, the strategic report prepared by an internal working group was discussed with a panel of external experts. On the one hand, the development trends which will influence tax policy in the next 15 years were debated. On the other hand, the various strategies and actions that have so far be introduced and evaluated were subjected to a critical analysis.

In a short speech, Professor Martin Wenz introduced the Liechtenstein tax reform and explained the challenges for Liechtenstein as a tax location. Furthermore, he gave his opinion on STEP2025, and particularly focused on the goals, stakeholder analysis, strategies and activities of the strategic development process. Subsequently, the development trends in tax policy and the strategies and actions were discussed with the panel and the audience. The aim of the event was to derive concrete recommendations for tax policy, as well as raising the awareness of FTA staff about questions of strategy.
