In their article, the authors analyse the status quo of current research into family businesses on the basis of what is probably one of the most comprehensive bibliometric citation analyses in entrepreneurship research worldwide. In order to do so, they analysed a total of 1,100 scientific articles with a total of almost 50,000 citations, grouping them in clusters according to content, and thus identifying the most important research trends in this field up to now, as well as recommendations for future research in the subject. The article can thus be recommended as a standard work for students and academics working in this field of research.
