The University of Liechtenstein inspires guests from China

Consul General Dr. Zhao informs himself at the University of Liechtenstein about the educational offer and the relations of the university with the People's Republic of China. During his meeting with Rector Markus Jäger, the top diplomat emphasized how important the field of education is to him in the relations between China and Liechtenstein.

During an informal exchange on campus, Markus Jäger and Prof. Dr. Martin Wenz, Head of the Institute of Finance, informed the delegation from China about the University of Liechtenstein's focus and priorities in the fields of economics and architecture, as well as its ties with the PRC.

This includes regular study trips of the Master's Programme in Finance as well as the Executive Master's programs to the exciting financial centers of Hong Kong, Shanghai and Beijing. The focus of these study trips for students is the know how transfer with the Asian financial centers as well as comprehensive insights into the Asian business world. Conversely, it is equally important for Liechtenstein and the university to present the opportunities of the business and financial center as well as the Principality's main legal topics in China.

Tamara Kessler of the Institute of Architecture and Planning, as well as students from China inspired Dr. Zhao following the business topics with the presentation of their architecture master's theses in the collaborative ambience of the studios on campus. In this context, the Chinese Consul General emphasized his role as a bridge builder between the two countries. For him, the field of education is one of the most important building blocks in the expansion of cooperation between the PRC and Liechtenstein, which he has been striving to achieve since 2018.

Cooperation between the University of Liechtenstein and Chinese universities in connection with Erasmus Mundus has existed for 12 years. Already in 2010, the first Erasmus Mundus exchange students from China came to the campus in Vaduz.
