The 2013 Liechtenstein Rhine Valley Business-Plan Competition provides young start-up companies with the chance to create a business plan under professional guidance and to receive critical feedback on their ideas at an early stage. The competition aims to foster business ideas in the region, which has a long-standing tradition of entrepreneurial thinking and practice. Participation in these kick-off events is free; however, participants are kindly asked to register at www.businessplan.li. The business-plan manual and detailed information regarding the competition can be found on this website.

Competition procedure
Training sessions on the professional development of business plans related to topics such as marketing and distribution or financial and investment planning will be held in January and February. Two breakfast circles in March and April will serve as platforms for direct knowledge transfer. The business plans need to be submitted by 14 May at the latest, and are to be pitched to a jury on 4 June. The awards ceremony for the three best business ideas will be held at the University of Liechtenstein on 11 June 2013 and is open to the public.

Professional network
The competition, which focuses on Liechtenstein and the Rhine Valley, is a collaboration between the NTB Interstaatliche Hochschule für Technik in Buchs, the Affiliated Institute SME Centre at the University of Liechtenstein and the government of the Principality of Liechtenstein. Additional project partners include START Liechtenstein, the Junior Chamber International Liechtenstein Werdenberg, the Liechtenstein Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Liechtenstein Chamber of Trade and Commerce.
