Prof. vom Brocke appointed to the e-Skills Commission of the European Union


In Europe, about half a million IT professionals are missing. A new IDC study shows that in five years, 90% of all jobs require professional skills in dealing with information and communication systems. No - or hardly any - innovation will be possible without the use of IT.

In Europe, about half a million IT professionals are missing. A new IDC study shows that in five years, 90% of all jobs require professional skills in dealing with information and communication systems. No - or hardly any - innovation will be possible without the use of IT.

The EU is establishing a commission in order to take effective measures. The strategy for Europe must be to develop comprehensive training measures. Prof. Dr. Jan vom Brocke was appointed as an expert in the Commission. He is head of the Institute of Business Information Systems at the Hochschule Liechtenstein and represents the educational and economical interests of the country.

With the participation of renowned scientists and companies such as SAP, Oracle, Microsoft, IBM, the EU organized the first e-skills Conference. In December 2009 the inaugural meeting of the e-Skills Commission in Brussels will take place.
