On Tuesday, 11 September 2012, 27 participants from VP Bank celebrated their successful completion of the continuing education programme in National and International Taxation at the University of Liechtenstein.

Last Tuesday, the participants in the fourth and final course of the continuing education programme on taxation received their certificates. The programme is offered by the Chair for Tax Management and the Laws of Liechtenstein and International Taxation at the University of Liechtenstein, in cooperation with VP Bank and under the academic supervision of Professor Martin Wenz.

A total of 110 employees of the bank thus engaged with the principles of national and international taxation. Alongside client advisers in the areas of Private Banking, Retail, Human Resources and Commercial Banking, the continuing education programme was also completed by product specialists in the areas of Wealth Management, Portfolio & Product Management and Operations as well as by individual members of management. Over the course of four modules in the last two years, the participants gained insights into national and international taxation in the countries of Liechtenstein, Germany and Switzerland, the double taxation and tax information exchange agreements (DBA/TIEA) between these countries, and the taxation of companies, asset structures and financial instruments. The participants were able to apply the knowledge they had acquired in the form of a final debate on taxation involving international case studies and their presentation as well as group discussions.
