On 9 October 2012, for the third time, the Institute for Financial Services is inviting interested parties to an evening of the Open FL House of Finance series at the University of Liechtenstein. The internationally renowned researcher, Professor Jin-Chuan Duan, will be speaking about a new rating approach.

On 9 October 2012, for the third time, the Institute for Financial Services is inviting interested parties to an evening of the Open FL House of Finance series at the University of Liechtenstein. The internationally renowned researcher, Professor Jin-Chuan Duan, will be speaking about a new rating approach.

Professor Jin-Chuan Duan, Director of the Risk Management Institute at the National University of Singapore, is an internationally renowned researcher in the field of credit rating. He develops rating systems, propagates rating as a public asset and is also committed to supporting the founding of new rating agencies. In the scope of the Open FL House of Finance, he will be delivering a speech entitled “Corporate default prediction and designing the RMI corporate vulnerability index”, which will present current rating systems and their latest developments, and provide insights into application options of the non-profit Credit Research Initiative in relation to regulation, asset management and research, an initiative that has been developed by the Risk Management Institute at the National University of Singapore. The event will be held in English in the auditorium of the University of Liechtenstein, on Tuesday, 9 October 2012, from 5.30 p.m.

Dr. Marco Metzler, CFO of PrismaLife AG in Ruggell and former manager at Fitch Ratings in London and Frankfurt am Main, will introduce the topic at the start of the event. Professor Michael Hanke, Vice-Rector Teaching and Learning, who holds the Chair in Finance at the University of Liechtenstein’s Institute for Financial Services, will lead the discussion following the keynote speech. The subsequent networking drinks reception will provide participants with the opportunity to exchange ideas with their colleagues and to discuss the topic with the speaker in more detail.
