Graduation ceremony, April 2022

At the graduation ceremony of the University of Liechtenstein on Friday, 8 April 2022, two doctorates were awarded and 43 graduates of the University of Liechtenstein received their diplomas. In addition, awards were presented to graduates for exceptional achievements.


Rector Markus Jäger together with Prorector Prof. Dr. Stefan Seidel welcomed the guests to the graduation ceremony.

In his keynote, Stephan Ochsner, owner of Ochsner Consulting, Vaduz, presented his personal seven rules for professional success. He described his career under the motto "first things happen differently ... and secondly than you think." He concluded by urging the graduands to keep their flexibility and curiosity for new things.

Exceptional Achievements

Five graduates were awarded prizes by Liechtenstein companies and associations for their exceptional achievements.

Awards in the Field of Architecture

The LIA, the Liechtenstein Association of Engineers and Architects, traditionally awards prizes to the best graduates of the Bachelor's and Master's degree programmes in architecture. The award in the Bachelor's programme went to Ronja Keßler, the one in the Master's programme to Ewelina Malgorzata Langer.

Prizes in Economic Sciences

As in previous years, the Foundation «Promotion of Young Technical Professionals» of Hilti AG awarded prizes to the most innovative diploma theses in economics. The award was presented to Moritz Schilling for his Bachelor thesis «Performance Management Systems in Green Supply Chain Management».

The Liechtenstein Bankers Association (LBV) awards the best average of all modules and the best thesis with outstanding academic and practice-relevant achievements from the Bachelor's and Master's degree programmes in Finance with a specialisation in Financial Services (IFS). The award in the Bachelor's programme went to Sebastian Daniel Matt for his thesis "Experts in the Crowd - Smart Money in Initial Coin Offerings", the prize in the Master's programme went to Yildirim Latif for his thesis "Evaluation of Generation Z's preferences regarding. SRI: A cross-generational analysis".

Doctoral degrees

Two students were awarded doctorates at this year's graduation ceremony.

Doctorate in the Field of Economics

Prof. Dr. Jan vom Brocke, Dr. Valentin Holzwarth and Rector Mag. Markus Jäger

In the field of economics, Valentin Holzwarth was awarded the doctorate summa cum laude for his dissertation «Virtualization of Industrial Processes with XR Technologies - Digital Support for Manual Work», his supervisor is Prof. Dr. Jan vom Brocke.

 

Doctorate in the Field of Architecture

Prof. Dr. Anne Brandl, Dr. Dalal Elarji and Rector Mag. Markus Jäger

In the field of architecture and planning, the doctorate was awarded magna cum laude to Dalal Elarji for her thesis «Constructing Minor Architectures: The Cases of Floating University Berlin and Agrocité Paris», her supervisor is Prof. Peter Staub, University of Liechtenstein / BFH Architecture, Wood and Construction.

 

The graduation ceremony concluded with the student speech by Gebhard Natter (MSc AR graduate).
