Content

There are many legitimate reasons for setting up a private wealth preservation structure and removing certain property from the sphere of a settlor's private assets. Despite the availability of alternative, innovative methods, trusts are still the most widely used vehicle for this purpose. The rising demand for trusts as an instrument of asset protection entails an increase in competition between around 30 jurisdictions with trust statutes governing the establishment of wealth preservation trusts.

It is crucial for practitioners in Liechtenstein to thoroughly examine the techniques available in other jurisdictions as well as new developments made in this field, in order to remain competitive in the much discussed competition between national legal systems. The conference presentations to be given by internationally renowned practitioners and academics will examine essential substantive and procedural issues arising in respect of Liechtenstein wealth preservation structures and compare these with their equivalents in Anglo-American jurisdictions.

Lawyers, trustees, employees of banks, insurance companies and financial service providers, as well as any people interested in trust law.
