Liechtenstein legal entities in International Private Law
Due to the globalisation the importance of cross-border activities of companies, foundations and trusts has been increasing in the international wealth management and estate planning. Prominent national and international speakers from practice and academia discuss the question about the civil treatment of Liechtenstein legal entities in international private law. The conference will also present essential results of the research project which is being carried out with the support of the Government of the Principality of Liechtenstein, the Liechtenstein Institute of Professional Trustees and Fiduciaries, the Association of Liechtenstein Charitable Foundations, and the Liechtenstein Bankers Association.
The speakers examine current legal issues related to the freedom of establishment of Liechtenstein foundations and trusts. The transformation possibilities of Liechtenstein legal entities will also be examined; and in doing so, a possible systematization and modernization of the Liechtenstein law will be shown. Due to the close business ties between Liechtenstein and Switzerland as well as Germany, current issues about the recognition under civil law of Liechtenstein legal entities in Switzerland and the dealing of the German international private law with special forms of organisation of Liechtenstein law will also be examined.
A concluding panel discussion rounds the programme off.
