Professorship of Economic Criminal Law, Compliance and Digitalization

The research and teaching program of the Professorship of Economic Criminal Law, Compliance and Digitalization, held by Prof. Dr. Konstantina Papathanasiou, LL.M., covers all issues of national, European and international economic criminal law. Research into criminal liability in business-related activity also extends to company-specific compliance requirements and developments in the digital sphere.

A central focus is on cryptocrimes and overall on criminal law relevant issues related to Blockchain, AI and Big Data. In addition, legal issues of digitalization are analyzed in a horizontally interdisciplinary manner; the aim is to shed light on the challenges of digital technologies for Liechtenstein as a business location, especially in connection with the "token economy".
