  • Cost and deadline management of construction projects
  • Processing commissions at the planning office

Lecture Goals

Based on the skills acquired in the modules Building Technology I - V and in line with the objectives of the module Building Technology VI the goal of this course is to expand further on the principles of planning and building processes.

Learning Outcomes

At the end of the course each student should have the ability to demonstrate and/or work with:

  • knowledge about cost and deadline management of construction projects.
  • familiarity with the most important methods and tools used for completing commissions at the planning office.
  • the ability to independently complete simple projects.
  • have well-founded and integrated knowledge about planning and building processes and the ability to employ said knowledge in the context of a coherent design project that reflects the architectural intent and principles of sustainability.
  • the ability to process, cluster and interpret a multitude of specifications and information, and apply them in the context of the design process.
  • understanding about the principles of team work to jointly develop design ideas.
  • the ability to communicate complex information with varying objectives to various target groups.
  • the ability to critically analyze, assess and synthesize ideas, concepts, information and topics relevant to the discipline of architecture.
  • the ability to utilize various sources of information to form an opinion.

Lectures Method

  • Lecture followed by practical examples.
  • Construction site visits and building inspections.

Admission Requirements

The modules of the Bachelor's program in architecture are structured consecutively (they build on each other).

  • Successful completion of the modules Building Technology I, II and III prior to enrollment.
  • It is recommended to take the modules Building Technology IV and V prior to enrolling this course.

Written examination of the learning outcomes of the course

Assessment

The course has to be passed with a sufficient grade (minimum grade of 4.0).
The module grade will be determined from the weighted average of the single course grades:
