As part of the SAP University Alliances several employees and students of the Institute of Information Systems were invited to the SAP TechEd 2010 in Berlin. The TechEd provides exciting insights into new developments of SAP AG, the market leader in this area. ERP systems support an ever increasing part of business processes. They enable standardization and productivity improvements of business processes within companies and also across company boundaries. Due to the central business control function, enterprise software is one of the key application areas for business process engineers.

The participants of the Institute of Information Systems could learn first-hand about the use of new technologies, such as SOA and web services, but also the application of Business Process Management principles, as it is developed in the research at the Hilti Chair of BPM. All participants were very impressed by the presentations and have greatly appreciated the opportunity to participate at this top-level event.
