In the scope of the public lecture series After Work Lecture on current developments in the area of investment and asset management, Alain Picard, Executive Director of the SIX Swiss Exchange in Zurich, will deliver a speech on 6 December 2012.

In the scope of the public lecture series After Work Lecture on current developments in the area of investment and asset management, Alain Picard, Executive Director of the SIX Swiss Exchange in Zurich, will deliver a speech on 6 December 2012.

In his lecture entitled “Stock exchanges in times of change – from ETF through MTF to HFT”, Alain Picard will be talking about current developments in stock-exchange dealings. Since coming into existence 10 years ago, exchange-traded funds (ETFs), for example, have grown into a business with a turnover of CHF 100 billion on the SIX Swiss Exchange. In addition to various other new and innovative products traded on the stock exchange, Alain Picard will also explore the issue of competitiveness and the activities of emerging trading companies.



Expert with experience in the field
Alain Picard is the Executive Director and Head of Product Management at the SIX Swiss Exchange in Zurich. Having worked in the banking industry for eight years, Alain Picard joined the SIX Swiss Exchange in 2001 as Equity Product Manager. In recent years, he focused his activities on the development and marketing of the ETF and ETP segments. Since 2011, he has been responsible for the product management of the trading segments and the training of traders. Alain Picard holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and an Executive Master’s degree in Private Banking and Wealth Management.

The event will be held in English and participation is free. It is aimed at professionals from companies, including banks, insurance companies, investment and asset management companies, financial advisory services and trust companies as well as at tax experts, lawyers, fund managers and auditors. Students from the Bachelor’s and Master’s degree programmes who are interested in finance and investment are also welcome.

The series of After Work Lectures is the result of a collaboration between the University of Liechtenstein and the Liechtenstein Society of Investment Professionals (LSIP).
