SAP Visionary Member Award at the Institute of Information Systems

Dr. Bernd Schenk, Executive Director of the Information Systems master's program at the University of Liechtenstein, was honored as a "Visionary Member" of the SAP University Alliance at the SAP TechEd in Berlin. This award is presented to members of the SAP University Alliance for their special commitment to imparting SAP knowledge to students.

Dr. Bernd Schenk, head of the SAP University Alliance Program at the University of Liechtenstein, was very pleased with this award, as it shows once again that the numerous activities in the field of Information Systems at the University of Liechtenstein are also perceived and appreciated nationwide. "SAP has been a reliable partner for many years, giving top priority to promoting the acquisition of skills by students", said Schenk about the cooperation.

Information Systems in Liechtenstein
Many companies in Liechtenstein rely on software from the market leader SAP to control their business processes. Knowledge of business software in general and SAP systems therefore plays a major role in the bachelor's and master's courses offered by the Institute of Information Systems at the University of Liechtenstein. Thanks to the close cooperation with SAP AG, it is possible to interest students in this subject area beyond the courses: Last year, invited by SAP, students of the University of Liechtenstein took part in the innovation challenge of SAP, the so-called InnoJams, which took place in Hannover and Las Vegas. In addition, SAP organized design thinking workshops with students at the University of Liechtenstein to develop creative software solutions.

Practical knowledge for career entry
As a university lecturer at the Hilti Chair of Business Process Management, Dr. Schenk has promoted the topic of business software over many years and is responsible for anchoring it in the master's and bachelor's programs. "The imparting of knowledge about enterprise software supports graduates in their career entry and increases the productivity of companies. Having studied our courses, students are able to transfer findings from research into practical solutions", says Schenk, explaining the basic idea behind the cooperation with SAP.

The SAP advanced training course "Train ERP in 10 days" has had a solid place in the university's calendar of events for years. More than 150 students have already acquired extensive knowledge about SAP software solutions beyond their studies during this course and have been certified as "Business Associates" by SAP AG.
