Stretched for almost 8 million square kilometres, Indonesia is a melting pot for 250 million people with 1340 ethnic groups, 742 local languages, and 6 religions. Located in the middle of the Pacific Ocean and the Indian Ocean, making it a strategic position in the world. You may easily reckon it on the map: The Emerald Archipelago, people call it.

Indonesia itself is the world`s 4th largest population and the 3rd largest democracy in the world. A place where diversity of cultures is not only celebrated, but translated into unity. Being united in one national language, the Indonesian language, is not making Indonesians ignore their ethnical roots. Foods, clothing, and dancing always become the calling for home.

The use of many different spices and the variety of preparing are some of the unique characteristics of Indonesian food. Indonesian traditional dance is a legacy, being passed down from generation to generation.
