Beschreibung

Very interesting course for economists and architects, as the course combines management topics such as communication, marketing, dealing with customers; calculation tools; and creates understanding and consensus-finding between technology, architecture and business aspects.

Development of an energy renovation concept for an older existing residential building in Liechtenstein with multiple units. Interdisciplinary development of engineering, architectural and business aspects. The concept should provide an architecturally sophisticated solution in terms of design and expression from which the customer (owner of the building) can benefit in different ways.

  • Introduction into fassade renovation systems and calculation tools for energy and investment costs
  • Introduction to customer needs / benefits and different value propositions
  • Introduction to project management and effective multidisciplinary group work
  • Excursion to innovative projects
  • Individual coaching of project groups
  • Midterm review and final presentation with expert and customer feedback

Ziele

After passing the course the students can run a complex interdisciplinary project with technical and business aspects:

  • Get an general understanding and overview of issues on energy renovations of buildings
  • Verbalize different value proposition of the design and get feedback from the customer to prioritize
  • Understand the technical basics of renovations
  • Compare and evaluate technical design parameters with calculation tools
  • Compare and evaluate cost parameters with calculation tools
  • Get insights into management topics such as communication, marketing, dealing with customers
  • Understand consensus-finding between technology. architecture and business aspects
  • Apply practical project management by defining project goal and task plans with milestones and track progress in the group
