Beschreibung
Brexit marks a turning point in the history of the European Union (EU). The main questions of this lecture are what are the reasons for Brexit and how Brexit affects European integration. In addition, the lecture will explore how referendums and other forms of democratic decision-making shape the European integration process. Finally, the lecture Brexit will compare other challenges of the EU.

Understanding of fundamental processes of European politics; insight into the political system of the United Kingdom; overview of alternative models to the EU; overview of the procedures and functioning of direct democracy in Europe; overview of the main challenges for Europe
