The legal system of Liechtenstein is for many reasons undergoing major changes. Comprehensive revisions and extensive amendments of long-established legal provisions are on the agenda. “Lunch & Learn” is an opportunity to deal in the shortest time – during lunch break – with the impacts of legal changes and to get the appropriate tools to rapidly and successfully implement the new insights in the daily work.

The Liechtenstein Venture Cooperative (LVC) has been launched in 2015 by the Ministry for General Government Affairs and Finance in order to offer a simple and legally secure framework to inventors, entrepreneurs, and investors in the early phases of innovation.

In legal terms an LVC is a small cooperative according to Art. 483ff PGR (Liechtenstein “Person and Company Law”) and thus combines the old tradition of cooperative system and the modern requirements of a knowledge-based and innovation society. It is interesting to see how the mechanisms described already in 1926 in the PGR for work and capital performance (“Tesslen”, “member points”) apply in today’s context.

During this Lunch & Learn Dr. Thomas Dünser, Senior Advisor in the Ministry for General Government Affairs and Finance, will be giving the participants an insight into the theory and practice of the LVC. Topics to be discussed include, among others, applications of the LVC, the standard founding documents, the Code of Conduct of the LVC as well as the new application possibilities of the small cooperative as structuring vehicle for the later stages of innovation.
