back to overview

Seminar

Date

Tuesday, 18 February 2020
8.30 a.m. to 6.00 p.m.

University of Liechtenstein
seminar room 7

Content

will be exchanged and a guideline for learner-centered teaching will be drafted.

The utilization of learner-centered didactics, such as case studies and other activating elements, removes the focus from the instructor and instead places it on the student. Instructors who adopt this approach value a collaborative approach to teaching and learning, one that honors students' wisdom and contributions. Teachers create a learning environment encouraging students to actively engage in and take ownership of their learning experiences, an environment inspiring students to think deeply about how they might apply what they are learning to their future practice. Hence, learner-centered didactics are believed to improve students' levels of cognition. This increases the employability of the students due to the novelty of the subject and the innovative multidisciplinary teaching and learning approach.

To foster the development of learner-centered teaching in the field of taxation, the workshop will focus on three aspects. First, how teaching in a learner-centered framework should look like. Second, how to evaluate learning outcomes in a learner-centered framework and third, what different perspectives there are on learner-centered teaching.
