The European Court of Human Rights delivers over 2,000 substantive judgments annually in a wide range of cases, examining whether member states have respected or violated the rights and freedoms enshrined in the European Convention on Human Rights. This leads to a continuous development of its "case law".
Without claiming to be exhaustive, the presentation will show the issues that the Court is addressing in its current case law and will continue to address in the future.
Individual aspects will be highlighted, such as the expulsion of criminally convicted foreigners, Internet and video surveillance on the workplace, calls for product boycotts or questions of bioethics, including those related to surrogacy, sexual identity and data protection.
It is a very special pleasure and honour for us that Carlo Ranzoni, Judge at the European Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg will give the lecture.
Target Audience
Lawyers, trustees, auditors, legal staff in civil service and in the financial sector as well as any people interested in current case law.
