Banking Award Liechtenstein

The Liechtenstein Bankers Association and the Institute for Finance at the University of Liechtenstein together award an annual “Banking Award Liechtenstein”. The award ceremony is jointly held at the University of Liechtenstein.

The Award is granted for theses that are both academically excellent and highly practice-oriented and relate to Liechtenstein. The Award is addressed to students and graduates of the bachelor’s and master’s degree programmes in banking and finance at the University of Liechtenstein.

By sponsoring the competition, the Liechtenstein Bankers Association wants to support the Institute for Finance at the University of Liechtenstein to encourage its students to outstanding academic and practice-oriented achievements. The award is endowed with prize money of CHF 5'000.



Banking Award 2018

The winners will be announced in a ceremony  by representatives of the University of Liechtenstein and the Liechtenstein Bankers Association on Thursday, 29 November 2018. A future-oriented lecture will be another highlight of the ceremony. The Institute for Finance accepts theses that are submitted on time and are rated as at least "good" (5,0).

Application process

Please, submit your application with the following documents by E-Mail to, Subject "Banking Award Liechtenstein " until Monday, 10 September 2018:

The completed and signed application form together with the following enclosures:
1. Electronic version of your thesis (PDF)
2. Motivation & reason for choice of topic (max. 100 words, DOCX)
3. Summary of your thesis (max. 450 words, DOCX):
     research question, methodology, results and practical relevance
4. Personal findings during the thesis process (max. 100 words, DOCX)
5. Picture (good quality, maximum size of 1 MB)

From all applications received, 4 - 6 theses will become nominated for the Banking Award Liechtenstein.
In case of nomination you have to deliver the document "Summary of your thesis" in German Language within 1 week.
