Description

This extra-curricular course aims at supporting students in defining their master thesis topic and in preparing an exposé. Participation is optional, but highly recommended to all students who are planning to write their master’s thesis in the following summer semester.

2013-09-01: Final deadline for submitting suggested topics via Moodle (optional, to be agreed with a potential supervisor beforehand)

2013-09-13: Presentation of potential topics by the faculty members

2013-09-20: Topics will be made available on Moodle and can be selected by students (first come first serve). As soon as topics are assigned, students commence their literature review.

2013-10-01: Upload of initial draft (two pages of problem description including relevant literature and first draft of research design)

2013-10-03: Presentation 1 (only those students are allowed to present who submitted their draft in time)
 5 min presentation
 Feedback from group
 Individual coaching with supervisor

2013-10-24: Presentation 2 (only those students are allowed to participate who also participated in Presentation 1)
 5 min presentation (Enhancements to previous presentation)
 Feedback from group
 Individual coaching with supervisor

2013-11-21: Submission of exposé draft to the supervisor

2013-03-01: Final deadline for exposé submission (exposé has to be signed by the supervisors already and is handed in to the secretary of the institute)
