Liechtenstein as a center of science – making research visible

The Liechtenstein University Network – the University of Liechtenstein, the Private University in the Principality of Liechtenstein and the Liechtenstein Institute – invited to the public event «Wissenschaftsstandort Liechtenstein – Forschung sichtbar machen!» at the campus of the University of Liechtenstein.

The three institutions conduct scientific research with different focal points and demonstrated the diverse research and teaching activities in Liechtenstein as a center of science during the event.

After welcoming remarks by Minister of Education Dominique Hasler, Dr. Barbara Gant, Rector of the Private University in the Principality of Liechtenstein (UFL), Markus Jäger, Rector of the University of Liechtenstein, and Dr. Christian Frommelt, Director of the Liechtenstein Institute and Chairman of the Liechtenstein University Network, introduced their respective institutions. In the subsequent panel discussion chaired by Head of Communications Carmen Dahl with Dr. Andreas Brunhart, Research Officer Economics, Liechtenstein Institute, Prof. Dr. rer. nat. Christoph Gassner, Prorector Research, Private University in the Principality of Liechtenstein (UFL), and Ass.-Prof. Dr. Johannes Schneider, Delegate Research, University of Liechtenstein, similarities and differences were identified and opportunities and challenges of Liechtenstein as a research location were discussed.

Afterwards, researchers from the three institutions presented selected research projects with the help of scientific posters and practical examples. In addition, an apéro riche provided the opportunity to talk with representatives of the institutions and learn more about the diversity of research conducted in Liechtenstein.
