New event series starts with visiting speaker of Rothschild Bank AG Zurich: On 14 November 2011, the University of Liechtenstein will open the Open FL House of Finance with a speech by Dr. Joe Maersch on the future of wealth management with regard to the Liechtenstein financial centre.


The Institute for Financial Services will open its doors for the first Open FL House of Finance at the University of Liechtenstein on Monday, 14 November 2011, at 5.30 p.m. At the beginning of this continuing education programme, Professor Martin Wenz, Head of the Institute for Financial Services, Professor Marco J. Menichetti, Academic Director of Programme MSc in Banking and Financial Management, Professor Francesco A. Schurr, Chair of Company, Foundation and Trust Law, and Dr. Dirk A. Zetzsche, LL. M. (Toronto), Associate Professor at the Propter Homines Chair for Banking and Securities Law, will be outlining current developments in the areas of finance, law and taxation, and providing information on the offers and projects of the individual chairs in the areas of continuing education, research, education and knowledge transfer.

Internationally sought-after visiting speaker
The University succeeded in procuring Dr. Joe Maersch, Managing Director Wealth Management at Rothschild Bank AG in Zurich, as a visiting speaker. He has been a senior advisor in the Ultra High Net Worth team at Rothschild Bank in Zurich since 2009. He is in charge of family offices and semi-institutional clients in Switzerland and Germany. In his speech entitled “Global Trends in Financial Services – The Future of Wealth Management”, he will be exploring central topics that are also of particular significance for the development of the Liechtenstein financial centre. In a panel discussion, Dr. Joe Maersch and the Chairs of the Institute for Financial Services will also be following up on selected topics and answering open questions.

Networking drinks reception for individual advice
At the subsequent networking drinks reception, the academic directors will be providing information about the continuing education programmes on offer at the Institute for Financial Services, and be personally available for questions. Thus, the participants of the Open FL House of Finance will have the opportunity to inform themselves about the specific options regarding continuing education at the University of Liechtenstein, and to receive individual advice on programmes, conferences, seminars and lectures.
