Public lectures at In the 2011/2012 winter semester, the Institute of Architecture and Planning of the University of Liechtenstein again offers lectures on architecture for interested parties. On 14 December 2011, architect and university professor Anton Falkeis will be giving a lecture from the series entitled “Collaboration in Architecture”.

The Institute of Architecture and Planning at the University of Liechtenstein regularly offers seminars, lectures and exhibitions for experts in the fields of architecture and construction, as well as for interested parties. The core idea is to establish the University of Liechtenstein as a place for the discussion of current topics related to the contemporary architectural scene and the construction industry. This semester, under the title “Collaboration in Architecture”, the proved lecture series explores the roles of different collaborations in the field of architecture. With regard to this topic, experts from the areas of architecture, structural design and energy have been invited. The lectures at the University of Liechtenstein start at 6 p.m. and are held in English.

Anton Falkeis – a process-oriented discovery of space
On Wednesday, 14 December 2011, Anton Falkeis will be a guest at the University of Liechtenstein. In his lecture entitled “movin’ movin’”, he explores architecture as the design of development, which is no longer merely product-oriented, but process-oriented. His examples focus on projects and buildings such as the Marxer active energy building in Vaduz, which explore this process-oriented discovery of space. Together with Cornelia Falkeis-Senn, Anton Falkeis founded the architectural firm falkeis architects in Vienna and Vaduz. He has been a lecturer at the University of Applied Arts Vienna since 2001.

Further lectures in January
At the beginning of 2012, another two lectures will be held. On 11 January, Klaus Bollinger will speak on the topics of cooperation as a planning process and teamwork between architects and engineers in his lecture “Structural design”. Klaus Bollinger has been a lecturer at the University of Applied Arts Vienna since 1994, and heads the Institute for Structural Design. On 18 January, Brian Cody will speak on collaboration in the field of energy-efficient architecture, and explore the maximizing of the energy performance of buildings through optimization of shape and construction. Professor Brian Cody is a lecturer at the Graz University of Technology, where he heads the Institute for Buildings and Energy.
