Lecturer receives award for Vorarlberg's “Best House 2018”

Julia Kick, lecturer at the Institute of Architecture and Planning at the University of Liechtenstein, has won the Vorarlberg Jury Award in the competition “Best House 2018” for the conversion of a farm building in Dornbirn.

The “Best House”, competition was held for the seventh time by the s Bausparkasse in cooperation with the Federal Chancellery of Austria, the Architekturzentrum Wien and the participation of the regional architecture institutions in Austria. This continually successful award thus celebrated its 13th anniversary. Julia Kick, who is actively involved at the University of Liechtenstein in the field of elective cross-faculty subjects and runs her own architectural office in Dornbirn, was able to impress the jury with the conversion of a listed farm building in Dornbirn into a residential building with a studio. Juror Verena Konrad from the vai Vorarlberg Architectural Institute praised the “sensitive revitalisation involving positive consultation with those responsible for the preservation of historic monuments that respectfully preserves a piece of the town’s history and transforms the interior into an urban living environment”.
