On Wednesday, 13 June 2012, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., the Affiliated Institute SME Centre of the University of Liechtenstein will be hosting the second event of the “Solid SME Knowledge” series on the practice-related topic of marketing trends for SMEs.

As a scientific centre of expertise, the Affiliated Institute SME Centre of the University of Liechtenstein serves as a contact point, where questions of small and medium-sized companies are addressed and where support in the form of coaching, continuing education programmes and an extensive information portal is provided. The „Solid SME Knowledge“ series is held every quarter and is one of the practice-oriented offers that examines the current challenges of SMEs at different stages of their development. This second event on 13 June focuses on questions related to new marketing trends, such as: “How can I sell my products and services? How can I operate on an international level? And which customers are good customers?”

Specific practice-related tips
The seminar will include two lectures and a panel discussion on new marketing trends in theory and practice. The questions of how SMEs can optimally reach potential customers, how they can attract their attention and how they can turn them from occasional customers into regular customers, all through a coordinated mix of marketing instruments, will be addressed.  The focus will be placed on business-to-business (B2B) customer relationships. In addition to a compact theoretical introduction, the speakers will also provide participants with proven tips related to corporate practice. Dr. Fredrik  Hacklin from the Department of Management, Technology, and Economics (D-MTEC) at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH) Zurich will provide an overview of the theoretical basics in marketing, while Dr. Martin Schmidt from Jossi Orthopedics Ltd. will present specific examples of challenges and their solutions in the area of B2B marketing.

After the lectures, the speakers Dr. Fredrik Hacklin (l) and Dr. Martin Schmidt (r) will be available for questions and discussions. The subsequent drinks reception will offer opportunities for active networking and the exchange of ideas.
