New appointments to the Vice-Rectorates

In its meeting of 18 May 2020, the University Council of the University of Liechtenstein appointed Prof. Dr. Anne Brandl as the new Vice-Rector for Research and Prof. Dr. Alexander Zimmermann as the new Vice-Rector for Teaching. Thus, the Executive Board of the Rectorate - with Prof. Dr. Ulrike Baumöl as Rector and Markus Jäger as Administrative Director - is once again complete.

Anne Brandl has been Professor of Spatial Planning at the Institute of Architecture and Planning at the University of Liechtenstein since 2017. In her own research, she deals with the challenges and opportunities of spatial development in Liechtenstein and the Rhine Valley, among other places, with the valorisation of urban landscapes and with the development of participatory strategies in spatial planning.

Alexander Zimmermann has held the Chair of Entrepreneurship and Strategic Management since 2018 and is the director of the MBA program in Technology and Innovation at the Institute of Entrepreneurship. He researches and teaches on the design of strategies and organizations, as well as on dealing with areas of conflict such as renewal and optimization or economic and social/ecological value creation.

In order to be able to fully perform their functions in the Vice-Rectorates, Anne Brandl will resign as spokesperson for the professorship and Alexander Zimmermann as Chairman of the Senate. The University of Liechtenstein will inform about the respective new appointments at the appropriate time.

"The University Council is pleased that with the appointment of the new Vice-Rectors for Teaching and Research, the operational management body of the University of Liechtenstein is once again effectively staffed and unites diverse talents from management to creativity to meet the challenges", emphasizes Klaus Tschütscher, President of the University Council.
