Every year Emerald invites the publishers of highly regarded journals to submit one to three publications which in their opinion represent their most outstanding output in the last twelve months. An article published by researchers of the University of Liechtenstein has just been chosen to receive the Emerald Literati Network 2014 Award for Excellence.

The article ‘Which cultural values matter to business process management? Results from a global Delphi study’ appeared in the university’s Business Process Management Journal, and has now received the Literati Network Award for Excellence 2014, with the accolade ‘Highly commended’. A crucial factor for the award is the opinion of the publishers, who include many top-ranking academics as well as business practitioners.

International cooperation

The international team of authors responsible for the articles includes Dr Theresa Schmiedel and Professor Jan vom Brocke of the University of Liechtenstein and Professor Jan Recker of the Queensland University of Technology in Australia. The two universities have enjoyed intensive exchanges at the highest academic level for some years now.

Professor Jan vom Brocke is the holder of the Hilti Chair for Business Process Management at the University of Liechtenstein and Director of the Master’s course in IT and Business Process Management.
Dr Theresa Schmiedel is an Assistant Professor at the Hilti Chair for Business Process Management and a lecturer on the Master’s course in IT and Business Process Management.

In the service of knowledge

With a view to raising the academic quality of specialist journals and books, Emerald Group Publishing invites submissions for the Emerald Literati Network Award in various academic disciplines every year. Criteria like internationality and diversity play a part in the selection of the publications, as do the influence on scientific research and practical usefulness. The prize is also designed to honour authors and publishers whose numerous outstanding contributions, both in journals and books and elsewhere, have made an important impact on the community of knowledge as such.
