On Friday, 16 May 2014 the University of Liechtenstein welcomed a delegation of alumni from the University of Yale in the USA. The aim of the visit was an international exchange of views on past experience of alumni work at universities, and the future potential such work holds.

The Yale Global Alumni Leadership Exchange (GALE) is a project organised by the Yale Alumni Association. The aim of the group is the further development of educational opportunities based on alumni work towards the promotion of intercultural expertise, the pooling of experience and the exchange of courses between leading universities.

Sharing experience at international level

The delegation was received at the university by Rector Klaus Näscher, whose welcoming address gave the American visitors an account both of the university and of the country. In the ensuing workshops, the Yale GALE representatives told an interested audience about their wide-ranging experiences of getting former students involved in the work of the university. The discussions resulting formed the basis for the joint development of models for work with and in the interest of alumni at the University of Liechtenstein.
