Exchange between retirees and students of the University of Liechtenstein: In the scope of the “Young meet young at heart” initiative, younger and older generations are meeting for an exchange at the LandesMuseum in Vaduz on Wednesday, 25 April 2012, at 6 p.m.

The “Young meet young at heart” concept originated in the scope of a study project, under the supervision of Cornelia Hofer, in the Compact Project Week of the University of Liechtenstein in October 2011. It will now be officially implemented at the Liechtensteinisches LandesMuseum. The aim of this platform is to encourage the exchange between students and retirees, and to create encounters between generations that rarely occur in everyday life. Thus, unique views can be exchanged and new synergies created between the young and the young at heart, leading to creative ideas and new insights on both sides.

Encounters at the LandesMuseum
The meeting between the retirees and students will be held on the premises of the Liechtensteinisches LandesMuseum. After a get-to-know reception at 6 p.m., two motivating lectures on the topic “Liechtenstein’s History” held by the retirees and the students  will act as an introduction to the following exchange between the generations. Subsequent to the official part, the programme continues with a joint tour of the museum’s permanent exhibition on the history of the principality and the neighbouring Rhine Valley, stretching from the past to the present. When the museum closes its doors at 8 p.m., those wishing to continue their interesting conversations can enjoy a drink in the Vaduzer Städtle, where the evening will be brought to an end.

Voluntary and non-committal
The “Young meet young at heart” initiative is directed at all retirees in Liechtenstein and the neighbouring Rhine Valley as well as all the students from the University of Liechtenstein. The event’s organization team consists of two students from the University of Liechtenstein: Sabine Wild and Ivan Melay from the Master’s degree programme in Entrepreneurship.
