Description

The research project PARK defines "architectural production" as the art, science and practice of designing, mediating and constructing. The project focuses on the mediation of architecture. To promote architectural production and to recognize the economic importance of its cultural activities is the aim of this study, and is intended to help achieve the objectives outlined in Liechtenstein's guiding cultural principles (Kulturleitbild). The government's stated desired outcome that in the next 10 years "businesses in the creative industries [be] trendsetters for the culture and economy" is to be the gauge for this study.
The following questions are to be investigated in the research project:

In what ways can architectural production contribute to the implementation of Liechtenstein's guiding cultural principles?
Of particular interest here is the provision of empirical evidence for the connection between the mediation of architecture via public relations work and the success of a heightened awareness among the public with regard to their culturally sustainable environment.

How can architectural production sustainably strengthen Liechtenstein's creative industries?
Here, the focus is on the processes by which architectural production could lead to the strengthening of creative industries. The project will examine what foundations already exist and which prerequisites must be put in place so that architectural production as part of the creative industries develops into an economic factor for Liechtenstein.

How can strong creative industries be used to create a positive image of Liechtenstein?
The third part focuses on developing an implementation and communication strategy for creating a sustainable positive image of Liechtenstein. Here, PARK aims to collaborate closely with marketing experts in the fields of business, culture and education to create lasting awareness on a global scale among an interested public regarding these newly generated strengths.

Reference to Liechtenstein
