Project motivation: Given that cybersecurity including breaches / incidents are omnipresent and will be in the future, it is most important to train individuals doing incident response. However, given the complexity and narrow subject, there are very few academic programs / classes focusing on Digital Forensics in Europe but those barely cover Incidents Response. On the other hand, there is only a small number of certificate programs / courses on Incident Response in Europe where most rely on the SANS institute. To tackle this challenge, this project combines leading experts / programs from various institutions to develop this unique course.
Summary: During the course of this project, we will focus on developing materials related to DFIR. The materials should be organized in a way that they can be utilized individually and thus can be integrated into existing curricula of participating institutions. On the other hand, the materials should be combinable which will allow to offer a certificate program (series of lectures) or a full lecture. The developed materials shall include theoretic materials (i.e., slides for instructions) but more importantly hands-on components (i.e., labs and exercises) to practice and deepen knowledge.
