Habilitation

The habilitation is the university's determination of teaching qualification and is the highest-ranking examination at the University of Liechtenstein. The granting of the authorisation to teach is associated with the right to freely pursue research and teaching at the University of Liechtenstein and to supervise and assess doctoral students. The teaching qualification or authorisation to teach can be acquired in those subject areas or subject combinations which are represented by professors at the University of Liechtenstein.

The certified teaching qualification is a prerequisite for appointment as a professor at most universities in German-speaking countries.
