Description
Development of a 150m2 solar photovoltaics (PV) project in the area of the university of Liechtenstein. Interdisciplinary development of engineering, architectural and business aspects. The solar surface is intended to provide an architecturally sophisticated solution at the selected point in terms of design and expression. In case of success the project is planned to be realized in 2015.
- Introduction into solar photovoltaics systems and calculation tools
- Introduction to project management and effective multidisciplinary group work
- Excursion to innovative projects
- Individual coaching of project groups
- Midterm review and final presentation with expert feedback and stakeholder management
Lecture Goals
After passing the course the students can run a complex interdisciplinary project with technical and business aspects:
- Get an general understanding and overview of issues on implementing solar energy
- Understand the technical basics of solar photovoltaics systems
- Compare and evaluate technical design parameters with calculation tools
- Get insights into management topics such as employee participation options, legal form of registered association, marketing, management of stakeholder
- Understand consensus-finding between technology architecture and business aspects
- Apply practical project management by defining project goal and task plans with milestones and track progress in the group
